Biographies
Tom Florence, CEO 
Tom Florence is the CEO and an owner of 361 Capital. He is responsible for the general management of the firm. He has over 26 years of experience in the financial services industry having been exposed to all facets including investment management, sales and marketing, operations, and general business management.
Mr. Florence began his career at Merrill Lynch in equity capital markets before moving on to investment management in the wealth management group. He then spent many years at Fidelity Investments where he was an officer in the Institutional Services Company. After Fidelity, Mr. Florence was a managing director at Morningstar, Inc. and on the six person executive management committee which had responsibility for general oversight of the company. While there, he founded and was president of Morningstar Investments Services, a registered investment advisor managing mutual fund portfolios for advisors and their clients. After Morningstar, Mr. Florence was an owner and a managing partner of Dividend Capital Group, a real estate investment management company. In addition, he was co-founder and president of Dividend Capital Investments, a registered investment advisor managing portfolios of real estate securities.
Mr. Florence has been on the Board of Trustees at two mutual fund companies including the Janus Mutual Funds. He has been a frequent industry speaker and a guest lecturer at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. Mr. Florence holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The Pennsylvania State University and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Kellogg Management Institute.
Brian Cunningham, CFA, President and CIO 
Brian Cunningham is President, CIO, and owner of 361 Capital. He is responsible for managing the investment and oversight of macro-economic research, portfolio construction and portfolio management.
Mr. Cunningham has over 27 years of experience in the investment management profession and has personally provided investment advisory services to numerous institutions and high-net-worth individuals. In 1996, he co-founded a regional investment advisor, where he served on the Board of Managers and acted as Chief Investment Strategist. Over his career, Mr. Cunningham has gained extensive hedge fund experience while managing the due diligence and research efforts on traditional and hedge fund products. In addition to his experience evaluating hedge funds, Mr. Cunningham also has direct hedge fund expertise, which he developed while serving as managing member for a quantitative market neutral management company.
Mr. Cunningham has earned the designations Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Investment Management Consultant (CIMC). He is a member of the Association of Investment Management and Research and the Denver Society of Security Analysts. In addition, he is a charter member of the Institute for Certified Investment Management Consultants (ICIMC). In 1999, Mr. Cunningham was honored as one of the financial services industry “best and brightest” by the Society of Senior Consultants for his pioneering work in advancing the practice of investment management consulting. He earned his degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University.
Blaine Rollins, CFA, Managing Director 
Blaine Rollins, CFA is managing director, senior portfolio manager and member of the Investment Committee at 361 Capital. He is responsible for manager due-diligence, investment research, portfolio construction, hedging and trading strategies.
Prior to joining 361 Capital, Mr. Rollins was an independent investor from July 2006 to February 2011. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President at Janus Capital Corporation and portfolio manager of the Janus Fund, Janus Balanced Fund, Janus Equity Income Fund, Janus Aspen Growth Portfolio, Janus Advisor Large Cap Growth Fund, and the Janus Triton Fund. He began his career as a financial analyst at AMG Guaranty Trust (formerly Asset Management Group).
Mr. Rollins serves on the Board of Governors at the Burridge Center for Security Analysis and Evaluation at the University of Colorado. He is a member of the Board of Directors and the Founders Circle at the LIVESTRONG Foundation. A frequent industry speaker, Mr. Rollins earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Colorado, and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Jeremy Frank, Investment Committee Member 
Jeremy Frank is portfolio manager and head of quantitative analysis at 361 Capital. He is responsible for portfolio construction and management, manager due diligence, quantitative modeling and all related software development.
Previously, Mr. Frank was with HCE Solutions LLC, a consulting firm he founded in 2007. Prior to founding HCE, he was a Senior Analyst with a regional investment advisor where he was responsible for analyzing investment strategies with a focus on quantitative, fixed-income and alternative strategies, as well as derivative structures. Additionally, he developed the firm’s proprietary research and reporting system. Mr. Frank began his career as a Quantitative Analyst with 361 Capital where he was responsible for hedge fund manager due diligence and risk analysis. During his initial tenure at 361 Capital, he developed the firm’s risk management software, as well as a proprietary research database.
Mr. Frank holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Northwest University and a Master’s of Science degree in Finance from Boston College.
Nick Libertini, Analyst 
Nick Libertini is an analyst at 361 Capital. He focuses on the development of proprietary software and models for the firm; risk analysis and modeling; trading strategy development and testing; and quantitative research. He has experience working with a variety of programming languages and is versed in statistical analysis and quantitative model development.
Mr. Libertini graduated from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business with a Master’s of Science in Finance. He also holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Economics from the Colorado School of Mines.
Aditya Bhave, Analyst 
Aditya Bhave is an analyst at 361 Capital. He is responsible for performance reporting, strategy testing, and manager research. He has experience with model development, software development and database design.
Prior to joining 361 Capital, Mr. Bhave was a Data Analyst for a local marketing firm. He has also held multiple leadership positions at Franklin & Marshall College and is an Eagle Scout.
Mr. Bhave graduated from University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business with a Master’s of Science in Finance with a concentration in Investments. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Economics from Franklin & Marshall College.
John Blue, VP of Operations/CCO 
John Blue is the CCO and Vice President of Operations at 361 Capital. He is responsible for operations and compliance and has over 11 years of experience in Investment Operations.
Throughout his career, Mr. Blue has been involved in a variety of roles including accounting, trade operations and creating operational efficiencies. He has excelled at incorporating technology to streamline operations.
Previously, Mr. Blue was at Janus Capital where he was an instrumental player in their mutual fund and separate account operations. In 2009, he was named the Janus Employee of the Year.
Mr. Blue has earned the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from The University of Colorado at Boulder’s Leeds School of Business and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business.
Michael Hewel, Trading and Operations 
Michael Hewel works in Trading & Operations for 361 Capital. He is responsible for trading the Asset Class Fund products, as well as monthly and daily reporting of all products offered by 361 Capital.
Mr. Hewel has over 10 years of experience in Trading, Operations and Investment Management. He began his career at a Denver-based RIA, working as an Investment Analyst and Trader. After his time in Denver, Mr. Hewel made a move east to New York, NY to work for Cantor Fitzgerald & Merrill Lynch, working as an Institutional Sales Trader for both firms. Following three successful years in NYC, he made a move back to Denver to work for Schwab Institutional on the Institutional Equity Trading desk before joining 361 Capital in May 2011.
Mr. Hewel holds a dual BS/BA in Finance & Statistics from the University of Denver.
Josh Vail, National Investment Specialist 
Josh Vail serves as National Investment Specialist at 361 Capital. He is responsible for product management, business development and distribution management. He brings over 10 years of experience in the financial services and business development disciplines.
Prior to joining 361 Capital, Mr. Vail was the Director of Capital Markets and Regional Vice President for Welton Street Investments focusing on alternative product development and distribution. During his tenure with Welton Street, Mr. Vail successfully launched two alternative investment products into the financial advisor distribution channels.
Mr. Vail graduated from the Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Real Estate. He currently holds securities registrations 7, 63 and 24.
Chad Greenberg, CPA/PFS, Senior Vice President 
Chad Greenberg serves as a Senior Vice President in the Advisor Division at 361 Capital. His responsibilities include Advisor relationship management, product distribution, and business development.
Mr. Greenberg brings more than 15 years of experience in both the financial services and business development disciplines. He is a licensed CPA as well as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), a designation awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants to those CPAs who specialize in providing estate, tax, retirement, risk management and investment planning advice to individuals and closely held entities.
Prior to joining 361 Capital, Mr. Greenberg was a co-founder and Vice President of one of the nation’s largest qualified intermediaries for 1031 exchanges where he was instrumental in growing the business from start-up to industry leader, which resulted in the sale of the company. Concurrently, he co-founded an Internet start-up focused on solving the needs of the real estate investor community. Prior to his start-up experience, Mr. Greenberg spent more than ten years in the tax and investment advisory industry, where he managed a portfolio for high-net-worth and qualified retirement plan clients.
Mr. Greenberg graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Colorado Society of CPAs.
