It goes without saying that this has been an unconventional year with everyone’s plans flipped upside down. If nothing else, this odd year has taught us all the importance of being able to pivot. We’ve had to pivot our work environments, pivot our vacation plans, and pivot many in-person events to virtual.
For the last couple of years, 361 Capital has hosted the Denver 9/11 Heroes Run benefiting the Travis Manion Foundation. However, with current public health concerns—this year’s event is pivoting to a virtual race. What does that mean? For the safety of everyone involved instead of hosting an in-person 5k event we will allow registrants to run, walk or ruck the 5K at the time and place of their choosing.
Since we are not constrained by geography this year, we invite you, our partners, from across the U.S. to join us in an attempt at making this the largest run we have had thus far. Our race will be held the weekend of September 11th-13th; if you are interested, register here now and use the promo code DION15 until 8/22 for a 15% discount on your registration.
By signing up as a virtual runner, walker or rucker you will receive (by mail) a shirt, along with a multi-functional face mask/neck gaiter.
This cause is near and dear to 361 Capital’s heart and we are proud to continue our partnership this year in its new format. You can view a quick video of our relationship with this event below.
We look forward to seeing everyone’s virtual race times this year and hope to see everyone—at least those in Colorado—again in person next year.

What is the Travis Manion Foundation?
The Travis Manion Foundation was started in honor of 1st Lt. Travis Manion, a Marine who lost his life in the war against terrorism (read more about his story here). The Foundation works with veterans, families and communities by supporting various character building, mentorship and empowerment programs as well as honoring those that have lost their lives while serving our country. The 9/11 Heroes Run is the largest fundraising event of the year with proceeds going to support these important programs.
